My Work
Drawings and Paintings
My paintings and drawings are often based around the human figure, and portraits from life. I am interested in the transition of movement and energy between our inner worlds and the outer form. I paint mainly in oils, sometimes watercolour, and draw in pastel and charcoal. In my landscapes, I focus on the play of light and texture on surfaces and the mood and vibrancy of colour.
Sculptures
I started to explore sculpture about 20 years ago, working primarily in plaster, and occasionally in clay, which can then be cast in bronze or resin. Inspired by the human form, my pieces focus on the inner as well as the outer landscape, of contemplation and gesture.
